evangelism?
Q. hello everyone, I want to convert my Neo-Pagan friend to christianity. I would appreciate some pointers, and bible verse examples, pointing out the flaws in Paganism. Thank you very much. In Jesus Christ my lord and savior,

A. John, only Christians and Jewish people believe that the Bible is the word of God. The rest of us believe it is a book written by men. Reading Shakespeare to her would be just as effective as using Bible verses. If she is your friend, accept her as she is.

What would postmodern philosophers think about the ethics of Christian evangelism?
Q. If your interested I am doing an essay on the ethics of Christian evangelism. I am thinking more person to person type evangelism as apposed to TV evangelism. And please don't just quote the bible, thats not answering the question!

What does your church teach about evangelism?
Q. How often do you witness? Do you wait to be asked about the hope within you ? Do you go door to door? Do you street witness? Have you gone out on missions trips to preach the gospel?
Asked by Helios - Sun Nov 15 17:46:54 2009 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments

A. We're trying to serve the basic needs of the community, rather than directly preach to them. We let the local neighborhood know we're there for them if they need us; we have a hardship fund set up to help the most desperate families in the neighborhood, knock on their doors to inform them of events we're hosting, such as a school supply and backpack drive event. We feel the most effective way to "witness" is to serve others; when they realize we really care about them and have no ulterior motives, they'll respond.

What are good forms of servant evangelism?
Q. If a church showed up at your house and ask you could they do all your yard work? What would you think? Would you consider going to that church?
Asked by cloeen - Sun Aug 13 21:54:53 2006 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. meeting needs of any sort is the best form of servant evangelism. it is what Jesus did. He did not require people to believe before He helped them but it opened the door for them to and most always they did. because He was giving to them and not taking. it is the most missed part or evangelism today.

Why not Fortune magazine also publish a list of first hundreds of Billionaires in Evangelism and Politics?
Q. I am an Indian and do not have much to the credit of my country to boast of unlike citizens of other countries. But if Fortune magazine publishes a list as I requested above India will have the highest score although money is deposited in fraud trusts and Swiss banks. My country is the only one in the whole world where Evangelists and Politicians enjoy a free run at the cost of its meek citizens.

A. As the lone answerer has said and said correctly that India is not the only country notorious for this. However, while people from other countries do not mind wearing their wealth, so to say, on your sleeves we in India would like more to be known as 'daridra narayan'.In fact, if some fateful day Fortune does think of compiling such a list(and publish it, it would be exposed to so manydefamation suits that rather than face t hat barrage, Fortune would prefer to issue a corrigendum and an apology owing up that the information in question was based on inadequate data and rumours.Should they stand up resolutely to this barrage they would soon be swept away without leaving any trace of theirs. Why expect the guests to take on the serpent?… [cont.]

Is evangelism a substitute for morality?
Q. It's common to say that the overriding issue in Christianity is that people aren't saved, but it sometimes seems to be an excuse for sin. For instance, i've seen intentional deception and greed in evangelism on numerous occasions. Therefore, i want to ask you who are saved, forgetting any kind of issue of evangelism, how has Christ helped you to avoid sin? I'm not interested in the issue of grace rather than works, i'm just asking for specific examples of how He has "made you a better person", without reference to any evangelical or formally worship-based activity.

Question to Christians about street corner evangelism using a sign ?
Q. My question is regarding quietly holding a sign on the street corner and only talking to those who show interest. Question: Is it possible for someone to be indifferent or even yell something nasty at the time they see the sign, but later get converted as a result of the sign?
Asked by Barney Rubble - Fri Jan 16 13:17:27 2009 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments

A. It's possible, but it doesn't happen often. I have apprehensions about guys who hang about on street corners hollering and hurling derogatory remarks at people they don't know and have never met. It is not a badge of honor to be hated by people you call filthy, rotten, and dirty; it is the expected reaction for your brash rudeness. These people also carry about a false air of superiority over every other Christian who isn't "evangelizing" the way they are. They are part of the "everybody's going to hell but me" factions of Christianity. I do not care for their methods of evangelism and I don't see this sort of demeaning attitude towards non-believers or the unsaved displayed at all by Christ in the gospels.

Pressured to choose between two heinous evils which one would you choose - Commercial evangelism or robbery?
Q. Details! By commercial evangelism I mean the profession practiced by blessings brokers who claim and act as agents to God tarnishing the image of Jesus Christ and Christianity. Commercial evangelism thrives on returns derived from looting the innocent, illiterate and ignorant laity. Many ROBED persons in Christian hierarchy act as pimps to them. Robbery is another name for plain looting using intimidation and force if called for. I am a devout Christian.

Why is the receiving end of evangelism?
Q. so terrible for atheists? A lot of times on R&S I hear atheists complaining about how terrible someone sincerely sharing their faith with them is. (not all but some) Don't you think you're making a huge deal out of something very small? Evangelism has zero impact on your life at all, what's so terrible about someone loving you so much they want to save your soul? Thanks in advance, don't dog me for generalizing it's impossible for me to know everyone of you.

A. I think it's for a couple reasons why Atheists get annoyed. First of all, Atheists, like most people, just want to be left alone. They don't knock on peoples doors at dinnertime or send out pamphlets extolling their philosophies. And in the United States at least, almost every street corner has a church in every town, large or small. An Atheist couldn't escape churches if we wanted to. So if we ever did feel the need to find religion, its there, waiting for us. Also, in the society of the United States, scripture is also nearby. Bibles abound, scripture is online. No one really needs to be preached to. Almost everyone in the U.S. and probably most of the world has at least a passing familiarity with Christianity, its very… [cont.]

As non christians should we expect Christian's evangelism efforts to increase in intensity if they began to?
Q. believe that they are losing numbers and power in the USA? Will their harassment of those who don't believe as they do increase? I know that in this area where a fundy cult has a lot of power they had a knee-jerk reaction to the election of our first black president of a door to door conversion campaign that just calmed down a few weeks ago. Now with the health care debate going on in congress it sounds like the door to doors are gonna start up again. Any opinions about this???
Asked by Praire Crone - Mon Jul 20 09:57:43 2009 - - 16 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Dear PC, Yes, I think so. It is the same as the death rattle you see in a dying person, trying to avoid the inevitable. Death will come to those who preach that their way is the only way, and since this principle is a ramrod up the spines of the Fundy mentality, that inflexibility, that strict adherence to literal dogmatic interpretation of their book, all these things will eventually be their undoing and they will fall, crashing to Earth and their cult will die of the poisons of their own making. But they will fight it tooth and nail, so in areas where they still hold some strength, like yours, they will cling to their vanishing power and fight their end. It won't do any good. The end of their world is coming and not a moment too… [cont.]
