A. because they're loopholes. The bible deals Christians some pretty lousy hands, but they never fail to pull out the 'context' and 'metaphor' wildcards to save them from losing to logic and reason. Luckily, us atheists have some aces up our sleeves too.

Is the use of apologetics incorrect when trying to support things outside of the realm of religion?
Q. Like with creationism for example or trying to rationalize taking some parts of the bible literal in regards to science. So I understand its usefulness when it comes to matters of religion and why we believe what we believe. Then apologetics belongs with the religion and not with the secular. What are your thoughts? No apologetics is defense of a certain position.

A. Apologetics is used only to defend the religious and the religion. The creation myth is in the bible and is purported to be an absolute fact within the christian communities - science states it is false. The apologetic has to defend that myth as fact. Apologetics is only used within a belief system.

A. Nothing offends reason. It simply exists, watching our mild attempts at it with simple, curious fascination. Reason being the basis for the rational person, offense being the basis for irrational bias, then no rational person may be offended. Therefore the premise of the question dissolves in that neither reason nor the rational person may find offense. Apologetics mix reason with emotional bias to defend their faith, but the two are easily separable when they are understood correctly. Emotional bias may easily be illuminated with logic, usually being the source of the inconsistencies. Circular reason is a contradiction, in that it establishes two events as causes of each other (i.e. the classic "chicken and the egg" paradox), and is… [cont.]
