Matthew the Evangelist (מתי/מתתיהו, "Gift of Yahweh", Standard Hebrew and Tiberian Hebrew: Mattay or Mattithyahu; Septuagint Greek: Ματθαίος, Matthaios) was, according to Christian tradition, one of the twelve Apostles of Jesus and one of the four Evangelists. Matthew, a former tax collector, composed the Gospel of Christ. It was first published in Judea in Hebrew for Hebrew Christians. It was later translated into Greek. Moreover the Hebrew Gospel itself was brought to the Library of Cæsarea by Pamphilus. The Nazarenes, who used it, had a copy of it transcribed for Jerome. From Wikipedia under the

He is also known as "Levi" and the Son of Alphaeus. Answered by Father K - Sun Dec 9 11:27:47 2007 Do you wanna know the meaning behind the words to "The 12 Days of Christmas"? Here it is? Q. I copied this from an email I received: The song goes, "On the first day of Christmas my true love gave to me " The "true love" mentioned in the song doesn t refer to an earthly suitor, but it refers to God Himself. The "me" who receives the presents refers to every baptized person. i.e. the Church. 1st Day: The partridge in a pear tree is Christ Jesus upon the Cross. In the song, Christ is symbolically presented as a mother partridge because she would feign injury to decoy a predator away from her nestlings. She was even willing to die for them. The tree is the symbol of the fall of the human race through the sin of Adam and Eve. It is also the symbol of its redemption by Jesus Christ on the tree of the Cross. 2nd Day: The "two… [cont.] Asked by Vikkip67 - Sun Nov 2 14:15:47 2008 - - 17 Answers - 0 Comments A. Thanks for the information. I am a christian and I heard of this song for many years, and I never would have related this song to the Christian faith. See you learn something new each day. Thanks and God bless. Answered by ladyjane7777@yahoo.com - Sun Nov 2 14:21:38 2008 Have you thought about what really is the difference...?
Q. between a Christian and a non-Christian? Isn't it greed? This is what I found out from a well-known evangelist in the healing ministry: Where your treasure is, Matthew 6:21 declares, there will your heart be also. The difference between a nonbeliever and the believer is greed versus giving. So, what are your thoughts on this? Does it make sense to you? Does it ring true? Do you see this is the people you know? Of course, we can't tell from the ones we meet in YA but you can see how your family and friends are. God bless you and thanks for considering this. I don't recall any atheist charities with people wearing shirts with a giant "A" for atheist on them.
