I think my angel fish may be pregnant. How can I tell for sure?
Q. I am the proud owner of three beautiful angel fish and I think one of them may be pregnant. How can I tell for sure? What should I do if indeed she is pregnant? Thanks, xXo Please answer!

A. Tough question...first of all to determine the sex of an angel fish you have to look head on at the area just above the pectoral fins, males will be slightly concave in this area ... kinda like this )(, females will be slightly convex, ( or plumper ) especially when she is full of roe ( eggs ). Its not easy to tell for sure but watching this area helps. now, if your female starts laying eggs (she will prob lay them on a plant if she has one, mine laid on the intake tube to my power filter) ...a male will spawn (hopefully) and fertilize the eggs... couple of things to note here; if you have a community tank with a lot of other fish in it , it may cause the mother to be nervous and she may eat the eggs,or depending on what other kind of fish… [cont.]
